Meeting Structure

NCPC normally meets three times annually at varying locations throughout North Carolina. Members also gather during regional professional conferences such as Performing Arts Exchange (PAE) and the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP).

Fall Meeting (even years): Typically called “Bull Chat,” this November meeting is hosted by the Carolina Theatre in Durham. Featuring round-robin-style pitch rotations, it offers agent and artist members a chance to meet personally with representatives from all attending presenting organizations.  Presenters then gather on their own for a collaborative booking forum.

ArtsMarket (odd years): Replacing the Fall Meeting on alternate years, this three-day performing arts showcase conference is held at the Carolina Theatre and Durham Convention Center in Durham, NC.  Featuring a carefully selected roster of touring artists in 15-minute showcases as well as a robust exhibit hall including upwards of 150 agent, artist, service organization, and vendor booths, ArtsMarket is open to both members and non-members.

Winter Booking Meeting (every year): Held in late January/early February, this meeting is open to presenter members only and consists of collaborative booking sessions as well as peer-to-peer resource sharing and networking sessions.

Annual Meeting (every year): Alternating between mountain and coastal locations, the three-day June meeting is open to all member categories and includes the annual business meeting, significant professional development opportunities, pitch sessions, and a host of informal networking opportunities.

All NCPC meetings include group meals, after-hours gatherings, and plenty of socializing!
